ECHF is a leading voice in driving the health inequality agenda in Edinburgh.

We provide leaders of local community health organisations with the opportunity to connect, learn together and to share best practice and resources. We fundamentally believe that we are stronger together.

what our members are up to today

"The next time I accessed counseling, the counsellor listened to me. I felt like a person"

If you don't know about an identity, invite the person to offer more info, + do your own research. Never assume they are ready or willing to educate you."
Ian of @SeeMeProud

"I would have been happy to help make a service more inclusive if I had been invited to do that. But I had asked for help."

Ian of @SeeMeProud

Ian fi @SeeMeProud talking about accessing counseling to deal with bereavement, but being asked instead about being gay / how to improve access for other #lgbt people. Totally inappropriate.

The #lgbtq community has a shared trauma around coming out.

#MentalHealth practitioners should take steps to make people feel safe coming out and being out in their space

Being #LGBT means you may have had to explore your identity. This is not necessarily negative + does not mean we don't know who we are.

Good point bfrim Jen of @SeeMeProud

Had a fab brunch with the community talking about #MentalHealth services

Lots of feedback + ideas about #lgbtq inclusion already

Just about to begin our community discussion #WellHealthy 😄🌈
